As our life calms down, we are settling in to southern California life. This is move number thirty in our lives together. We are so thankful for the place we have in Murrieta, just up the hill from the hot springs.
The folks we've met in our community have been very welcoming. The house is spacious with an open floor plan. One thing I was looking for - and got - was no lawn to mow. The yard is gravel, though I would have settled for artificial turf like some places have on our street. After living in places where we had to keep the neutral colors, Sue is going now through paint samples choosing colors she wants for her home.
We especially enjoy the patio and the views to the west across the valley to the Santa Rosa mountains. It is a fine place to have morning devotions. Just beyond those mountains lies the Pacific coast.
Three of the four directions you look from our house, there are mountains.
We can tell we're not in Michigan any more. Even though it looks like a normal neighborhood, our neighbors have warned us to watch out for coyotes, rattlesnakes and even bobcats.
