As time moves on, you can't help but wonder what happened to that super hot month of July. Soon we'll be wondering the same of August.
We've had fun times with our grandson Jordan - sleepovers, swimming, and even making tents (under the dining room table) with Grandma that have glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling. Looks like Grandma's favorite colors for this tent.

We traveled out to Baltimore, Maryland, to receive an award from our mission for thirty-five years of service. The whole conference was a time of spiritual refreshment, renewing old friendships with colleagues from the past and making new ones with young families preparing to go out to the mission field.

The Administrator of Central and South America Dave Southwell, and his wife Ev, presented the award to us. Over the years, Dave became a friend as well as our administrator. There were times that He graciously brought down size 13 basketball shoes for our boys when he visited.

Right after that conference, we went back to Michigan, and had just enough time to wash clothes before going up north to Ludington for a reunion of Sue's siblings. That was a nice time of remembering and making memories.

The Olympics started right after that, and Natali came over from Ann Arbor to spend a few days with us. Below is what Sue and Natali did while watching the games.

During the week, we had some more Jordan time, watching him play T-ball. In his first season, at age four, he does well at hitting and following instructions of his coach.

And what fun it is, at least for those watching. You never know what four year olds will do next. Let's just say their minds aren't always on the game. Here he's running for first.

The season has ended, and everyone got certificates and medals, just like Olympians. (Look for the kid in sunglasses.)

A couple birthdays were squeezed in there as well - first, Bill's sister, then Joel's wife, and finally Grandma Spoelhof's milestone celebration of 99 years. (I know...she's my Mom, but after so many years of calling her Grandma with our kids, we pretty much go with that name.) She even ate cake and ice cream with us.

Moving right along, our life is once again being packed into boxes. Earlier in July, while visiting Aaron's family in California, we made a bid on a house out there, it was accepted, and we will be moving on August 15.

Our house is a very nice house in Murrieta, right near the hot springs and Aaron's house. Located on the top of a hill it has great views of the surrounding mountains and is only thirty minutes to the ocean.

I think we may settle down there for a while.
