One Last Time

In mid-April, our sending church - Wealthy Park - had a Sunday of Thanksgiving for all that God accomplished in our years of service in Brazil. It was great that Carla and Beto from our church in Brazil were able to be with us as part of the celebration.
They even gave a word of greeting from our church in Bauru before I preached. And they didn't need a translator as they both speak English (as well as German and Portuguese). Beto is a deacon in our church and Carla a Sunday school teacher. They have also worked with young married couples and led family value seminars at the church.
After the morning service, a lunch, really a dinner, was served of all Brazilian foods. I'm not sure how the Americans liked it, but for us it was "uma delícia".
The room was nicely decorated with Brazilian flags, maps and parrots. Following the lunch, we showed the slide show of the past thirty-five years in Brazil one last time.
And one last time, I told the elephant story from my time in Bangladesh. The amazing part is that I was there forty years ago!
I'm sure Sue is relieved that she doesn't have to hear that story again for a long time.
We appreciate everything that was done to make it a memorable day.
