Puzzled

It was an interesting weekend around church. With people getting sick (two of the three pastors wives were out, and a couple ladies got sick during the service) and multiple activities going on, we had to be flexible!

Because the leaders of the university students’ small group had another commitment, Sue and I ended up leading that group on Saturday evening instead of doing the teen program, and Dave filled in there. The teens, who will be leading the service this coming Sunday, were supposed to have a rehearsal that night, but the folks responsible for getting that together didn’t show up because of a mix up in instructions. Tim and Andrea had six young married couples out for their small group, even though Andrea ended up sick with mumps by the end of the day. We’re hoping that she doesn’t pass them on to Tim. Over all, we were thankful that everything went off pretty much as planned.
During the month of June we pastors are presenting the vision we have for the church, as well as working on helping the people get to know one another. Each Sunday we have an ice-breaker to mix things up at the beginning of the service (not an easy thing to do with a hundred people). Sue and I were in charge of that activity this week, and had people divided into five groups making puzzles that pictured the key words that we are using to show the direction of the church. Believe it or not, they had a good time working together putting the puzzles together.

We have been encouraged by many of the comments of folks who come out. Our response: to God be the glory!
