90 percent of putts that fall short don't go in

We watched the US Open last week and then the play-off. Who would guess golf could be exciting?!
Winter arrived here last Friday, and it’s been cold and rainy even though the weather girl says this will be a warmer than usual season over the next few weeks. Still we’re trying to keep warm sitting bundled up in afghans. Looking outside, cherry blossoms are out on the trees in the park up the street and poinsettias are blooming bright red.
It was a busy weekend with the young people at church. On Saturday night they had rehearsal for leading the service on Sunday evening (in months that have five Sundays, the teens lead one of the evening services). They handled everything from doing the ice-breaker with me at the beginning of the service, to leading the music, reading scripture and praying, as well as doing special music and a group reading. They did an outstanding job! Our friends Lincoln and Daisy helped Sue and me in organizing everybody (15 teens had a lot of energy that needed direction) while Dave worked the sound.
We had our last small group meeting this past Thursday. It was a mixed group with teens and their moms and dads. Initially, I wasn’t sure how it would go, but everyone commented about what a great time it was. These past few weeks the study was on time management and prioritizing. We pastors are in the process of setting up studies for the new small groups that will begin in August after the winter school break.
The church’s inaugural service is pretty well planned out for July 6. Still there seems to be a lot of last minute things to be done, but it’s all coming together.
Even though it is cool here at the moment, up in Michigan, our grandson Jordan is liking getting wet in the pool!
