Once In A Lifetime Deal

First Birthdays are a once in a lifetime deal!  Frankly, I can't remember mine. But this past week we celebrated the arrival of our granddaughter Elliana just one year ago. Her name means "God has answered", and she really is an answer to many prayers.
Thursday was her birthday, but Saturday there was a big - very Brazilian - party in the park.
Her daddy Aaron grilled steaks and chicken fixed the Brazilian way.
There were moms and dads and kids of all ages!
Everyone loved the barbecue, salads, and fresh cheesebread.
Though Ellie didn't get what all the fuss was about, she still smiled for pictures.
All of her grandpas and grandmas were there to celebrate.
The cheesebread, as well as brigadeiros (like chocolate truffles), chocolate cake for the guests, and a carrot cupcake just for Ellie were all homemade by her Grandma Spoelhof.
Like it says on her special bib, "When God made me, He said Ta-Da!"
And the presents she got - everything from clothes to books...
 to all kinds of toys.
What fun celebrating a special little life!  And may she celebrate many, many, many more times!
