It was good to visit with Ben and Claudia as well. Five years ago, Ben was youth pastor at our church for an eighteen month stint, and during that time met Claudia who became his wife.
Their two kids, Lucas and Sofia, gave some comic relief in the wedding ceremony as they literally ran down the aisle with the rings.
We only stayed for part of the sit-down reception dinner, heading out to another party around eleven.
One of our “present” youth, Mateus, just returned from a year in Germany as an exchange student, and there was a welcome back party for him as well as a birthday party for his mom, Carla, who is a good friend of ours. It was fun and there was chocolate cake and brigadeiros!
We finally got home from all the partying about one-thirty in the morning and with eating so many chocolate brigadeiros I got to sleep by about three o’clock! Yes, and I did preach the next day. This past week we’ve been making visits every evening with church members. That, along with other "get it done now ’cause Sue’s finally having surgery next week" stuff, is keeping us busy during this month of winter break from small groups and youth.
A welcome addition to Bauru eating this past week was Burger King – yummm!
