You’re getting warmer…

Summer weather is hanging around here and rain (which goes along with it) too.
Last weekend we had company from ABWE. Our Brazil administrator Dave Southwell and his wife Ev were here with guests E.C. Haskell and his wife Caroline (1st trip to Brazil). While they were here, we did some business and they got to see the work, but there was also time for visiting, Brazilian barbecue, experimenting tropical fruit juices, and even a game night. Sunday evening the two ABWE churches got together for a joint service with Dave.
Tonight is a work night to finish up painting the worship area at church. About twelve people said they would be there to help - now, I just hope they know how to paint!
Sue and Soraya watching paint dry! (Really cooling down in front of an air conditioner.) Lots of fun!It is again time to pack suitcases. This time we travel to south Brazil for the ABWE All-Brazil Conference. It is being held at a huge hotel in the mountains in a scenic little town called Gramado. Because the airline messed with our plane reservations cancelling three different flights we were to be on, we now have to leave Bauru at 11:30 on Friday night to catch a flight at 6:15 in São Paulo Saturday morning. All the folks from our field chipped in together to rent a van to get in to the airport in São Paulo. Along with daily training sessions and devotional times, it should be fun seeing old friends from other fields where we’ve served in the past. We will return the following Friday just in time for Carnaval weekend. Sue is out right now getting a manicure/pedicure and will get her hair cut tomorrow for the trip.
I got an I-Pod for Christmas. Pretty cool…once you learn how to use it. In the beginning, the first time I turned it on, I managed to change the language from English to Chinese (I’m very tech savvy – ha!) After I got that straightened out (with the help of my administrator Dave) the next challenge was getting music on it. But hey, I did it and now have over six hundred songs on. Next step is to get some pictures and videos on it. Now it’s great!
Can't end this blog without including the latest shot of our little cutie grandson Jordan in his Brazil shirt!
