I’d about given up on keeping up this blogging. I'm sure something will interrupt even now as I write this afternoon. There are moments when things start to overwhelm, but I’ll give this another try.
We left the summer heat of Brazil
and went to the cold and snow of Michigan for the year's end.
We were so thankful to be able to make that quick trip to the states to meet our grandson Jordan. Boy, was he worth it. What a little cutie!! And so good natured!
His mom and dad were great and let us hold him and play with him every chance we got.
We also started talking to him in Portuguese.
And along with our newbie Jordan, we had all of our kids around for the week between Christmas and New Years.
Natali worked her schedule at the hospital to come over from Ann Arbor. Aaron and Rachel flew in from San Diego. And we all had Christmas at Joel and Lynne’s house in Grand Rapids.
Sometimes I think it’s amazing that our kids like us and want to be around us. We talked a lot, laughed too much, ate too way more than we should have, played games together and just enjoyed every minute of the short time together. They all loved their scrapbooks that Sue had made for them!

It was cold and snowy (but what else should you expect in Michigan at this time of year?!) so we went out one night and did snow tubing. Initially, I thought that I might be too old to do stuff like that anymore, but no way, it was just great fun! Sue stayed home to babysit Jordan that night.
One of the neatest things with the family get togethers was having four generations together with my dad Paul (94years), me, Joel and Jordan.
Sue and her sister Marcia gave a bridal shower for our niece Faye Lynn, who is getting married next month.
