What’s the Buzz?!

He's here!!!
This past weekend, our son Joel took his wife Lynne into the hospital because she was having chest pains. After several tests were done it was determined she was having pre-eclampasia and Hellps disease. The placenta was starting to make Lynne sick...possibly very sick so the baby was induced to come out.

By yesterday afternoon things weren’t moving along as fast as the doctors liked and it was decided to do a caesarean surgery. Jordan Christopher met the light of day at 1:17 pm, Monday, November 12. He’s just a little guy weighing in at 6lbs. 2oz. and only 18 inches long. But a little cutie from the first pictures we’ve just received. Everyone knew that he was a boy, but the Mom and Dad kept his name a secret, so now we know that too.
We are so thankful that Lynne is doing well after all she’s been through and so happy for Joel and her. It’s one of those life-changing moments for a family! And we are proud to be Grandpa and Grandma for the first time!
While all this was happening far, far away, Sue and I were in a field council meeting. A field council is made up of all the missionaries from our mission working in the area. Along with the regular business we handle, our annual ministry reports were presented, and election of officers for the coming year. For the past couple years, I have been vice-chairman, which is a pretty “cush” job, except when the chairman isn’t there, like yesterday. In September our colleague - and FC chairman - Tim Blazer became very ill and had to return to the states for diagnosis and treatment. Even with tests at the University of Michigan hospital, things are still not resolved for him, and his wife Andrea and their children are in Grand Rapids with him now. Anyway, I became the field chairman once again. Well, it was a nice break!
Regular church related business though anything but routine, keeps us busy, but now there is added a reconstruction project (taking out two walls in the worship area) to keep an eye on and a new banking account to get straightened out. Some days we say, just take things one day at a time. We always enjoy having folks in for a meal and Friday evening we enjoyed a good time with our friends Lincoln and Deise (pronounced Daisy).
I’m sure there’s more to write about, but this is enough for now, and the pictures are worth a thousand words.
