Clownin' Around At The Circus

The circus came to town!! We went!! It was great fun up in the grandstands! We hadn't been to the circus in years, but it was still much like I remembered it as a kid. There were lions and tigers doing tricks and jumping through flaming hoops as the lion tamer snapped his whip. We all were excited and cheered and clapped for each act. But Jordan seemed to be enthralled by it all. Many times all three rings had something going on - from jugglers juggling knifes, axes or firery torches, to rollerskaters and bikeriders doing tricks, to dancing girls with hulahoops. Horses and bears put on quite a show too. And, of course, the elephants lumpered around, working for peanuts, doing stunts that made us laugh. Tightrope walkers, and flying trapeze artists did daredevil feats making us gasp! One of the last to perform was a Brazilian - dressed in "verde e amarelo" (green and yellow) with Brazil flags on his sleeves and tights - who was flipping all over the place on what looked like a couple long drapes twisted around his arms and legs! All to soon, the ringmaster brought the show to a close, but we went away excited and talking about the greatest show on earth!
