New Beginnings

We are back to the states, and the reentry process has begun again. It has been a long time away.
As tired as we were after all the confusion of the trip from Brazil, we were staggering through the terminal in Grand Rapids, where family and friends were waiting for us. What a nice sight! There was also a lovely apartment awaiting us thanks to friends Gordon and Elaine Vandermeulen.
We are relatively settled in even though most of our bags aren't even opened. Family time was most important
And you can imagine who is at the center of all the family time...grandson JordanThe one we know the least, but who now controls the show.
Playing cars with Grandpa...
and more toys with Grandma...
and shoe-guns with Aunt Natali (who isn't always around)...
There was birthday time for Bill at Red Robin...

with Dutch chocolate birthday cake afterwards.
And then for Joel's birthday, 2 days later, we hit Larry's pizza rodizio and then red velvet cake.
Jordan is the one bright spot in my 97 year old mom's life, and he pushes Great-grandma all around the home in her wheelchair. Unfortunately, she didn't recognize her own son when he came by ("Bill's not bald!") but she did know Sue!
The first Saturday back we went to Fredrik Meijer Gardens to see the butterflies. We thought with the freezing cold and snow outside, there wouldn't be many butterflies inside,
but there were hundreds of them (click on the picture to enlarge and you'll see some) in all shapes and colors!
One was even attracted to Sue's coral nail polish.
We also purchased transportation. I wanted a really cool car, but they were high priced, and - for the money we had - high miles. So we bought "sensible" and it still looks nice. Meetings have begun, and many miles will be traveled over the next several months, as we report back to our supporting churches on all the great things God has done and continues to do in our lives and ministries.

We're glad you're "home" & staying around for a while.
