There hasn’t been a lot going on around here that’s too exciting to write about. There have been some early mornings getting Sue to different clinics to get exams done for a surgery she will need in the near future. Yikes…flashback to five years ago on May 30, and her brush with death – well, let’s be honest, much more than just a brush. We are so thankful that she’s still alive! Anyway, here we go again with the blood and other type tests, ultrasounds and the list goes on. Going out early for exams had a good side though, we'd stop by McDonalds for breakfast. Not that the meal is so great, but their cappuccino is excellent. So, anyway, back to the wife, in the midst of all the testing, she lost a crown – from her tooth that is - so over to the dentist. And then Sunday night after church, she lost her voice and still doesn’t have it back. So, not all bad news, I guess! Ha! (Just joking, honey, in case you read this!)
I’ve put in some extra hours recently teaching new members’ classes. The church took in seven new members this past Sunday at the annual business meeting. This next Sunday, there'll be another business meeting, but this time for our former congregation, which will have a final vote to close that work and donate everything from our past to the present ministry. Hopefully, that will go smoothly, but then again this is Brazil. Yesterday, I had a pastors’ meeting with Tim, and now he called today to say he’s sick. Our meeting was to make sure everything is set for the month of celebration for the church’s first anniversary. Maybe, there’ll be some pictures worth taking during that time.

Thinking this over, I miss my wife! She’s at a meeting right now, and I’m getting hungry. I would like a Bauru sandwich – one of the things our town is known for throughout Brazil. Yum…roast beef, melted cheese, tomatoes, (pickles too, but I don’t like pickles) on French bread (sooo good hot out of the oven, and I’d eat just that by itself any time)! And the place that started it all is just a couple blocks away...
OK, I’m out of here!
