As Chuvas de Março

As I write this, the wind is whistling through the apartment, blowing in more March rains. They come bringing the end to summer. The changes in season can be felt - thankfully - after weeks of summer heat in the 90s.
I was hoping to be able to write that all the church documentation for the legalization process was completed and accepted by the government by now, but it's still with the attorney. I was hoping to write that everything was settled on a land purchase for church, but the legalization process has to be complete before we can close on that, so nothing there either.
It’s one of those times to rest in the Lord and trust in His timing.
Numbers have been down. In our teen group the past couple weeks, kids have been traveling with teams for weekend games and tournaments.
Still we’ve been having fun even with a smaller group. Along with the study this past Saturday night, we played musical chairs blind-folded – it was a riot, at least for those who watched!
There have been lower numbers for church services and small groups as well, with families traveling during fall break. But life and work goes on.
One man’s junk became another man’s treasure with the bazaar at church on Saturday, the 7th, and almost two thousand dollars worth of stuff sold, the money going to the land purchase. It was great to see the great spirit of everyone who spent days setting everything up, pricing, working the bazaar and finally taking what was left all down. There are a lot of preparations are in progress for Easter, Mothers Day and the first anniversary of the church coming up in the next few weeks - special music, programs and even gifts.
In downtime, I’ve been having fun spending birthday gifts on line at iTunes and Amazon.com stores, thanks to my kids. I really like the one rhythm and blues song, "Riding with the King" by B.B. King and Eric Clapton.
It was great to see our grandson Jordan last week via webcam. He’s getting so big, but we don’t even know him.
