I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

This past week was spent cleaning, remodeling, painting and setting up the kitchen at church. We were over there every day getting things done – cleaning out, throwing out, sealing the walls and painting.
It was worth all the time since this was the last room to get organized.
Along with boxes of kitchen stuff from both churches, everything that wasn’t being used anywhere else in the church was tossed in there and the door closed so no one could see.

Moriah Blazer kept me entertained telling stories while the walls were being sealed against moisture.
After getting most of the stuff out of the room, sinks were installed and a tile backsplash was put in. I’m glad that Dave Smallman knows how to do that kind of work. It also seemed that Reginaldo, Ester, Vanessa and Sue did the major part of the work. (It helps to have people around who know that they're doing!)

The room was divided with the kitchen on one side and a storage room for tables, extra sound equipment and cleaning products for the downstairs area.
The second day another crew came in to paint. Since it was a dark blue before, it required two coats of paint after the white sealer. What a difference a coat of paint makes for a cleaner look! The ceilings are high, so I went up and did the edging by the ceiling. (I don’t like to paint - and especially do the edging - or climb ladders since falling off one a couple months ago, but someone had to do it…and it’s done!)
Third day, a second coat of paint and touch-up. Fourth day, start putting stuff into the storage room and organize kitchen cupboards. Fifth day, stock cupboards with all the pots, pans and dishes as well as food. By lunchtime we finished up!
Tomorrow is a double baby shower, and Sunday evening, a carry-in dinner. But now, things are ready!
Yesterday, we spent the evening with Claudia Loftis and Lucas. It was great to "matar saudades" with her and get to know Lucas a little. He’s a cutie! And he liked me! It seemed the more I ignored him the more he tried to get my attention. (I'm great with kids!!)
Sue’s gone back to church this afternoon to make two diaper “cakes” for the party tomorrow. They turned out pretty cool - made from disposable diapers, bottles, and baby toys.

Tonight, the Smallmans are coming over for tacos, and planning activities for the teen program.
I have to get some laundry now. I need some clean clothes to travel next week. Then, I have to pack a suitcase. Ugh!
