Sit Back and Relax!

Even with everything that went on this past weekend, we still found some time sit back and relax!
Friday night Mario and Marta came over for pizza and planning time for a family road rally in September. Since this is something no one’s ever done here, it should be fun for those brave enough to try. Mario and Sue are responsible for setting it all up. There was a lot of laughing that went on with making up rhyming clues for each stop – something that doesn’t come easy to us using a second language, but we found it was tough for Brazilians as well.
Saturday we went to Satoshi’s birthday party. He’s a member of our church who has been a great help with his law experience. Along with friends from work and family there were about twenty folks from church that came out to celebrate.
It was fun visiting and relaxing with friends, and of course there was plenty of food.
I even made friends with one of their pet parrots, though I wasn’t sure if he’d nip my ear.
That evening after praise team rehearsal, we had the teen group. It was a smaller group than usual but we still had a good time. They are always up for anything new. As part of our study they had to do a hot potato to answer questions, and then they had to play pictionary to reveal some clues.

Church was full again Sunday, and we had several students visiting as the new semester begins. September is Family month at church so there’s been a lot of planning going on for that. Sunday night after the service, people responsible for different areas were going around with clipboards lining up different families to do special music, reception at the front door and bring in family recipes to share. This month gets bigger and better each year we do it!
It was fun doing the webcam visit with Joel and Lynne last week. Lynne is getting a little “bigger”. We’re still waiting for pictures. I think tomorrow’s their 4th wedding anniversary.
Tchau for now!
